'Wndsor Castle, across the river Thames from Eton Common', acrylic on board, 1200mm x 600mm
Windsor castle was added to by Henry VIII, using honey-coloured stone from the demolished abbey at Reading, which contrasts strongly with the original grey stone.  Windsor is the largest inhabited castle in the world and is one of the homes of Queen Elizabeth II.  The royal standard flies from the flagpole on the round tower when the Queen is in residence.
