I thoroughly enjoyed wrestling with the myriad technical problems I stumbled into while pursuing technical accuracy in this painting. The Spitfire under rebuild was the star of the major film, 'The Battle of Britain', along with a large part of the Spanish Air force which, at the time of making the film, still had many WWII Luftwaffe aircraft flying on an operational basis.
Depicting the plastic Darth Vader pinned to the noticeboard was a particular challenge!
